Head Coach – Graham Brookhouse

Graham showed aptitude and drive to reach a high standard during his sporting career, competing at two Olympic Games.

Graham was a junior international at both swimming and water polo. His international career spanned the years 1984 – 1996.

Through his experiences in swimming he was introduced to the sport of Modern Pentathlon where he represented Great Britain at two Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in 1988.

Graham started his ASA coaching level off the back of his international career and is a qualified ASA coach.

Using the knowledge and experiences gained representing his country; Graham believes coaching should be carried out in a friendly and humanistic way, meeting the needs of the individual.

He was the coach of Cheltenham Swimming and Water Polo Club from 1991 – 2001.

Graham joined Gloucester City Swimming Club as Head Coach in 2001.

Graham’s focus is around the technique of swimmers at the club putting in a good foundation for improvement as they develop strength. His ethos is very much about keeping it simple using some of the training methods he was taught as athlete.

Graham still has the competitive instinct and competes regularly in triathlons and was World Champion in his age group (not telling what that is)! He can regularly been seen putting in the miles around the roads of the Cotswolds on his bike.

Development Coach, Glocester City S. C. - Andy Osborne

Development Coach - Andy Osborne

Andy has always been involved in sport from an early age. He represented the County at rugby, football and athletics, his highlights playing for the South West region at football and reaching National Athletics Championships, reaching the 400m final.

Through his sport Andy was never really coached, and therefore he now feel’s strongly that dedicated athletes deserve coaches that are interested, talented and able to deliver in both a determined and committed fashion. Andy believes that athlete's that sacrifice much in terms of time and lifestyle, deserve honest coaches, as determined as the athlete themselves to succeed.

His interest in swimming began when his children developed in the sport. His son reached National standard, his daughter still enjoys swimming socially.

Andy started his education process back in 2003, progressing through ASA level 1 and 2 courses whilst helping on poolside as an Assistant Coach at Stroud. His level 3 Club Coaches courses led to a Head Coach at Stroud some 3 years ago.

Andy has received recognition at a high level, being awarded the Nancy Ovens Bursary Award in 2007, and also being awarded the British Swim Teachers and Coaches Award for Grass Roots Coach of the Year for the South West of England.
