girl in gogglesAnother great club champs with Gloucester’s younger generation of swimmers from ages 7 to 12, with many of them achieving PBs! Some younger swimmers aged 7 and 8 swam 25s while the others swam 50s in every stroke.

As older swimmers in the club it was good to help and support the younger children. For some it was their first ever competition and it made us feel proud to be part of that. Everyone who competed gave it their best with a competitive attitude towards their events.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make the night a great success from team managers, officials, medal people, bubble people, drinks people, young volunteers, door/raffle people and last the coaches who were looking out for stars in the making! Also Vic Blakelock who organised the whole event. But we must not forget the crowd: Parents, Grandparents and Friends who spurred the children on. Sometimes it was tense and sometimes was proud but overall they did a fantastic job to cheer on the swimmers.

For swimmers who competed in all four strokes and came at the top of their age groups they swam in the final of the 100 IM. The full results can all be viewed on the Team Stats Online.

Thank you to Andy the Head Coach for presenting the children with their medals and trophies, this made it extra special.

Every swimmer walked out of GL1 with gigantic smiles on their faces and medals dangling around their necks (all you could hear was ‘dingle, dangle’ as they wore their bling!!) feeling proud of what they had achieved.

Well done swimmers!
